Story About Jane
Jane Carroll is the founder and CEO of Jane Foodie — but her story didn’t start in a kitchen, it started in the basement of her home in The Bronx while raising a son and building a floral business.
From those beginnings days, Jane Carroll Flowers became a nationally recognized floral business that landed her on The Oprah Winfrey Show. But in the summer of 2008 Jane suffered a heart attack at the age of 41, followed by the great recession in Sept of that same year. It was time to re-evaluate not only her health, but her career, as the demand for fresh flowers plummeted.
After a conversation with her cardiologist, he suggested she take up yoga (telling her she was tighlty wrapped) and start eating better. Jane decided to open up a tiny cafe in a Pearl River NY where her family lived. She started experimenting with simple foods made from scratch that she was familiar with growing up in The Bronx. As for Yoga, she tried for months, eventually taking up boxing!
A pandemic, an unsuccessful attempt at scaling a cookie line, Jane kept bobbing and weaving eventually launching Jane Foodie in June 2024 at the Fancy Food Show, where her line of wholesome, flash-frozen meals won Gold and was named Outstanding New Product of the Year. Then in April 2025, she shared her journey with the world on Shark Tank (Season 16, Episode 16) — and hasn’t looked back since.
At Jane Foodie, we do things differently. Our meals are scratch-made the way generations before us cooked — one pot at a time, using only ingredients you can pronounce. No preservatives, no artificial anything. Just good, honest food.
