Two days after Mother’s Day last year, my mom suddenly passed away. She was the strongest woman I knew — raising four kids, moving us across states, and holding our family together through every high and low. This is the tribute I wrote then, now shared as part of my journey.
We thought Florida would be paradise. The Portofino condos sparkled with promise — pools, palm trees, and more space than we had ever known. But behind the sunshine, cracks began to show. Within two years, everything my parents worked for was gone, and once again, my mom carried us back to New York, holding our family together with her strength.
